What Is Nordic Best?

What is Nordic Best?

Nordic Best is the first 100% traceable and sustainable fish oil product, and the first Pure Virgin Pressed Fish Oil from Salmon containing all natural omega-3 fatty acids as well as phospholipids, antioxidants like astaxanthins and the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Unlike other salmon oils Nordic Best oil is made only from pure salmon sourced north of the Arctic Circle in Lofoten and Vesterålen, Norway. Where fresh arctic sea water, strong ocean currents and low water temperatures create the ideal conditions for healthy Salmon.

How does Nordic Best work?

Nordic Best is produced in less than 75 minutes after harvesting the salmon. Nordic Best is delightfully mild tasting with natural EPA and DHA Vitamins (A, D, E & K) and Astaxanthin, which can:

  • Help you reduce the signs of normal aging
  • Boost your immune system
  • Provide you with positive mood support
  • Enrich your blood with omega3
  • Help maintain your blood cholesterol levels within the normal range
  • Support your memory function

When it comes determining quality in salmon oil, Nordic Best excels in the Three P’s (major challenges in producing a high quality fish
oil): processing, purity and peroxides. Nordic Best guarantees:

  • 100% pure
  • Not chemically processed or artificially concentrated
  • Contains all the natural nutrients in fresh and raw salmon, like phospholipids, Vitamin A, D, E and K and the antioxidant astaxanthin
  • is never exposed to oxygen or excess heat
  • Guarantees the freshest omega-3 supplement on the market

Quality Assurance

Nordic Best complies with the strictest requirements for oxidation, and is the freshest and mildest omega-3 oil on the market. TOTOX is an international standardised measuring value that indicates the degree of freshness or rancidity in fish oil. The higher the TOTOX value, the more rancid the oil is. A recent study of Norwegian fish oils demonstrated Nordic Best with the lowest TOTOX value (Rubin report no. 196, October 2010)*.

PL/GOS work according to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) quality standards and are reviewed by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (Mattilsynet) biannually.

Cautions: Traditional omega-3 products from Salmon fish oil

It may come as a surprise, but almost all “Norwegian” Salmon omega-3 products use a blend of fish oils. Fish (herring and sardine) caught in waters off South America. Traditional Salmon Omega-3 Fish Oils are often:

  • A blend of more than one type fish
  • Excessively heated (up to 200 degrees Celsius)
  • Chemically refined, bleached, deodorized (to remove odor and taste)
  • Stored inappropriately in large untreated, metal tanks for long periods of time before processing
  • Processed at plants that are not approved for the production of human food
  • Unprotected from air & oxidation
  • Highly unstable
  • Artificially concentrated, which leads to the elimination of many of the natural and nutritious fatty acids and antioxidants.

Alteration of the omega-3 molecule increases the risk for further oxidation and rancidity.
